WHAT IS BOTOX® AND DYSPORT® ?
Botox® and Dysport® (botulinum toxins) relax the muscles that are injected and can last 3-
4 months, sometimes up to 6 months. To note, the longer you use muscle relaxing
injections, the less frequently you need them. In other words, your muscles "get used" to
being relaxed. You will start to notice when you are due for another treatment as your
facial wrinkles/folds will start to return.

WHEN SHOULD I NOT GET BOTOX® OR DYSPORT®?

• under the age of 18

• pregnant or nursing

• an infection in the planned injection area

• allergic reaction or sensitivity to botulinum toxin

• muscle or nerve conditions, such as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, myasthenia

gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome

• you have volume loss or "sagging" as Botox will not correct this.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TREATMENT?
We recommend every 3-4 months.

WHO IS INJECTING BOTOX® AND DYSPORT® AT LADRU ENHANCED COSMETICS?
A licensed Registered Nurse who has been trained to be an medical injector under the
supervision of a Medical Director.

WHAT IF THIS IS MY FIRST TIME GETTING BOTOX® OR DYSPORT® ?
We would schedule a 30-45 minute consultation to discuss you goals, develop a
treatment plan together, and will perform the treatment. Finally, we will schedule your 14
day follow up appointment where any dose adjustments would be done (15 min
appointment).

WILL I STILL NEED A CONSULTATION IF I HAVE BEEN GETTING BOTOX® OR DYSPORT®?
Yes. The nurse will need to review your health history, discuss your goals, and develop a
new treatment plan with you to optimize your desired results.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER BOTOX® OR DYSPORT® ?
You can have some mild redness, bruising, swelling, and possibly a headache (with
forehead injections) the night after. The injector nurse will review all of this with you
during your consultation. The effects of botulinum toxin can start as soon as 24-48 hours
with maximum effect at 7-14 days
